Render

Location: Kyiv region
Client: Confidential
Paving: Large-format slabs, timber pool deck
Features: Lavender entry, raised planters, pool, play lawn

The constraint

A white modern villa with a narrow side yard and a long rear lawn, and a brief that asked for scent at the front door and a pool that children could use.

The decision

Lavender and boulders carry the entry; the side passage becomes a gravel garden with stepping slabs; the rear is split between a timber-decked pool and a lawn big enough for a game, with raised planters as the only wall between them.

The detail

The planters double as a bench and a barrier: the lawn stays open, the pool stays contained, and nothing reads as a fence.
